Robbie Estey-Willick
ROBBIE ESTEY-WILLICK Osteopath (Manual Practice) D.O.M.P., B.A. Rob is a registered Osteopathic Manual Practitioner with over 10 years of experience, and was formerly a Registered Massage Therapist from 2006 to 2022. He graduated in 2012 from the 5-year osteopathy program at the Collège d’Études Ostéopathiques (Halifax). He also completed the additional research component of that program, receiving the A.T. Still Award for Advancement of Osteopathy in the Field of Philosophical and Sociological Research. Prior to studying osteopathy and massage therapy, he attended McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, graduating in 1996 (B.A. Political Science). Rob works with people of all ages using only a hands-on approach to treatment, without the use of machines and devices. He has experience addressing a wide variety of health conditions. He uses a gentle, holistic approach, working with people to promote optimal health by restoring and maintain alignment and mobility of joints and soft-tissues enhancing balance, mobility and strength. Rob's areas of interest and in-depth clinical experience are: Back and Hip issues Neck, Shoulder, and Rib issues Nerve impingements (i.e. pinched nerves) affecting arms and legs including: Sciatica and Piriformis Syndrome Neck and Shoulder Impingements Tension Headaches, Migraines and Sinusitis Frozen Shoulder Post-Concussion Syndrome (support for post-concussion) Sports and Fitness related injuries Conditions affecting Babies and Children Rob has taught several courses in Osteopathy at the Collège d’Études Ostéopathiques (Halifax), the Canadian College of Osteopathy (Winnipeg) and the Canadian School of Osteopathy, Manual Practice (Vancouver). Courses include: Lower Back and Pelvis: focusing on treatment of low back, hips, sacro-iliac joints, and conditions including sciatica, piriformis syndrome, leg and foot problems, and headaches and migraines related to low back and pelvic dysfunction. Respiratory System: focusing on treatment of neck, back and shoulder issues, and support for related breathing and sinus problems. Pathophysiology of the Digestive System: focusing on awareness of signs and symptoms of digestive conditions, illness, and disease which warrant referral to a physician for appropriate medical follow up; and complimentary manual therapy treatment considerations for problems related to the stomach and esophagus (e.g. GERD / reflux) and for intestinal problems (e.g. constipation, IBS). Research Methodology: (an introduction to qualitative research design) Rob also taught anatomy and physiology at Northumberland College (Massage Therapy Diploma Program) in Halifax. He served as an executive board member (Treasurer) of the Nova Scotia Association of Osteopaths from 2019 to 2022. He is a currently a member in good standing of the Association of Osteopaths of New Brunswick. Rob completed training as a yoga instructor in 2000 with Maureen Rae in Toronto, with additional yoga teacher training in Burlington, Ontario. He has taught gentle, beginner-oriented yoga classes since that time. He also enjoys walking, hiking and biking, and is a regular writer.
